This lifestyle podcasts post was originally published in January 2018 and updated in July 2019

For the longest time, I never really understood why lifestyle podcasts were a “thing.” I maybe listened to an episode of Brandi Glanville’s podcast (fellow RHOBH fans, I see you cringing) way back when. I even deleted the Podcasts app on my phone because I “didn’t need it.” Let’s just say I’ve had a podcast glow up and have the best lifestyle podcasts for your morning commute.

Now I LIVE for podcasts and am recommending them left and right! I feel like I’ve found some of the best lifestyle podcasts that might be just right for your morning commute. Or really just time spent in the car when you’re not feeling your playlist. I’m convinced that lifestyle podcasts were made for your drive to work. They can have a big impact on your mindset for the day. Whether I need a good laugh or inspiring business tips for my blog, there’s a podcast for it. It’s like I’m having a good heart-to-heart with my besties in my car. That’s why I wanted to share the best podcasts particularly for your morning commute!

BEST LIFESTYLE PODCASTS FOR YOUR MORNING COMMUTE

LIFESTYLE PODCASTS – POP CULTURE & LIFESTYLE:

Bitch Sesh:This podcast makes me (legitimately) laugh out loud. People next to me at stoplights probably think I’m clinical. Bitch Sesh is the podcast for all lovers of the Real Housewives franchise. Or Bravo in general, honestly. The hosts are outrageously funny and analyze every detail from each Real Housewives episode in the most hilarious way. You could listen to this even if you don’t watch the shows; it’s just that funny. Definitely a great listen for starting off your day with some laughs!

Two Judgey Girls: This is another winner when it comes to Bravo and Real Housewives recaps and breakdowns. It’s so funny and I love the dynamic between the hosts!

Absolutely Not: This is a new one on the list, but you better believe it’ll be permanently in my rotation. The host is Heather McMahan, my FAVORITE comedian – a must follow on Instagram! Watching her stories is the highlight of my day, and when she has a new podcast episode out, then my day couldn’t get any better at that point. This podcast has me belly laughing in my car – no better way to start off a day than with that!

The Skinny Confidential: Him & Her: It was hard to think of a category for this podcast because it offers SO many different things. They interview experts from so many different industries and walks of life. Actors, dieticians, entrepreneurs, doctors – you name it! This podcast delivers so much value because of all of the tips and tricks you get. I’ve learned many things from many episodes and I love the dynamic between Michael and Lauryn, the husband-and-wife duo as hosts! You will be learning and laughing every time you listen.

Be There in 5: Kate Kennedy, the host of this show, is known for her “deep dive” episodes. She also interviews really good guests, but I love to listen to the deep dives particularly! They are long but they are informative; I understand so much more after listening to them about different topics. Most recently, I listened to an episode about Taylor Swift’s public post about Scooter Braun; I learned so much and was getting enraged at how Taylor had been treated and just the dark side of that industry. A must-listen for sure!

LIFESTYLE PODCASTS – DATING & RELATIONSHIPS:

U Up?: Initially, I wasn’t a big fan of this podcast. But one of my best friends loves it so much, so I knew I needed to power through. The male host was a bit too cynical in his perspective, but then I warmed up to his part in the dynamic of the two hosts. And he definitely provides amazing male insight to dating etc. And now? I listen every week! They also read and respond to listener questions which is my favorite part and interview dating experts etc. One of my favorite dating podcasts now!

This is Why You’re Single: I used to listen to this one a bit more regularly than I do now (the hosts can get a little annoying after listening to too many, ha), but it’s definitely worth the mention as far as dating podcasts go. I love the guests they’ve brought on, but my favorite part is when they read and respond to listener’s dating and relationship questions. I’ve gotten valuable insights from their advice and analyses of all the craziness that is dating today!

Girls Gotta Eat: I don’t listen to this one regularly, but I loved the episodes that I’ve listened to over the past couple of months! The hosts are hilarious, bold (sometimes pretty crude so be prepared!), and they ask great, hard-hitting questions for their guests.

LIFESTYLE PODCASTS – TRUE CRIME:

My Favorite Murder: I became a fast fan of this podcast. And you may be asking yourself, “isn’t this a little dark for my morning commute?” Well, the hosts are absolutely hilarious, first off. The cases they cover are fascinating (they go back to the 1800’s sometimes!) and they do thorough research for each one. I recommend listening to see if it’s for you! If you don’t get anything else from it, I think it’s good to listen to for safety and awareness reasons.

Crime Junkie: This podcast is the BEST for a quick hit of true crime awesomeness. I love the way the host goes about telling the stories of each crime. She does a great job of doing her research and presenting in a way that feels like a friend telling you a scary story. She also does an amazing job in putting together all the evidence, videos, photos etc. for each case on her website where you can go for more details.

LIFESTYLE PODCASTS – PERSONAL GROWTH:

Super Soul Conversations:

The episodes that I’ve listened to so far have inspired me and even pried a tear or two from my eye. (#inspired) Not only does Oprah have an inspirational TV empire, she also has one of the most impactful podcasts. Only Oprah! I definitely think this is one of the best podcasts to listen to for a moving start to your day. I recommend starting with the Brene Brown episodes.

The Amber Lilyestrom Show: Amber is one of my favorite branding experts/business coaches to follow on Instagram. She just “gets it” as they say. I love her Focus Friday episodes because they always hit right to point about behaviors or fears that could be holding us back in our lives. I just really like the philosophy she has for being kind to yourself and giving yourself grace. Always a good message for this recovering perfectionist!

The Remedy: I particularly love this podcast because it’s recorded in Dallas! But I really love it because it features multiple episodes where my beloved therapist, Janice Gaunt, is interviewed. Start with the episodes interviewing her first – SO much goodness!

LIFESTYLE PODCASTS – BUSINESS/ENTREPRENEURSHIP:

The Influencer Podcast:

If you have a blog, side hustle, or want to start a blog, this podcast would be an amazing place to start. Julie Solomon, the host, is someone in the industry that I really admire. I feel like she asks her guests the good, deep questions that get to the root of what her listeners are looking to hear. That’s why I feel like it’s one of the best podcasts for listeners in the influencer industry. This can also be a good listen for anyone interested in influencer marketing and wanting to learn more about how it all works!

The Glossy Podcast: love this podcast because they interview the founders or big players at some of my favorite companies. Most are digitally-native companies and it’s so cool to see how these brands have built their fan base without a brick and mortar store in some cases. The host asks really good questions and the insights I’ve taken away from it have been so valuable.

There you have it – the best lifestyle podcasts for your morning commute. I hope one (or more) of these podcasts brings a little sparkle to your morning!  Let me know what you’re listening to if you’re a fellow podcast lover. I’m always looking for more recs!

5 Pieces to Chic Up Your Travel Style

5 Pieces to Chic Up Your Travel Style

5 Pieces to Chic Up Your Travel Style 800 1200 neverwithoutlipstick

Last year was a pretty big travel year for me with two trips to London and a family friend’s wedding in Ireland! This year has been a bit more tame with a few amazing trips this side of the pond. But I’ve been jealous watching everyone else’s getaways on Insta this summer! This got me thinking about how much I love airport and travel style (for real…Pinterest board dedicated to inspo here). Usually I opt for my go-to athleisure favorites for traveling. But when I shot this travel look, I started to think how it would be a great option for a more chic approach to travel style. It still has every element of comfort that I look for when I travel – just a little more structured!

Today, I’ll be sharing 5 travel style essentials to be comfortable and still look chic. Make sure to scroll down to find out what they are!

Top 5 Travel Style Essentials:

1. Casual Drape Trench

Are you one of those people that’s always cold? Because I AM, and I think I’d have a panic attack if I went to the airport without a jacket or trench like this! A drapey trench is a very chic, classic alternative to a sweatshirt or oversized cardi. You can also wear it with so much, so style it with your outfits on your trip – less to pack! This trench would be the perfect option. I have my eye on it – it keeps going on sale and I need to get it ASAP!

2. White Leather Sneakers

If you’ve heard me say it once, you’ll hear me say it again: A pair of white leather sneakers are a must-have for your wardrobe in today’s world. Especially for the airport with all of the walking, and I don’t know about you, but I just want a closed toe shoe option when on the plane. And now with pre-check it’s easier to wear sneaks because you don’t have to take your shoes off. (Or opt for a slide-on sneaker for easy removal if you fly without pre-check!) There are so many styles out there; you’re bound to find one that you love and that flatters you!

Sharing some of my favorites below:

3. Stretchy High-Waisted Jeans

There’s nothing I love more for my travel style than a high waist. That tucked in/sucked in feeling is hard to beat! These jeans would be the only ones that I would *ever, ever, ever* fly in because they are so comfy. Jeans can be just as cozy as a legging but formalize a look just a wee bit more!

4. Sleek Backpack OR Structured Leather Bag

I’ve always been one to grab an oversized tote for travel. But mostly traveling in a carry-on this year has really forced me to learn #minimalism. Enter the backpack. I found a backpack by this brand at TJ Maxx and have loved it ever since. It fits SO MUCH and the nylon is easy to wipe off if anything gets on it etc. Just the way it’s made allows for me to fit my must-haves or suitcase overflow into it easily and still stay organized!

On the other hand, a very structured, perhaps smaller leather bag can be a great travel option to house just your essentials you’ll need on the plane: headphones, makeup/toiletries, water, a book? I love a bag that’s small so it can slide under a plane seat easily but still roomy on the inside. Madewell and Cuyana have amazing options at really great price points. I also recommend choosing a pebbled leather option because it’s a bit more durable and stain-resistant than other leather textures!

5. Comfy Button-Down Blouse

Last but not least, there’s definitely a way to wear a silky or button-down blouse to the airport and still be comfortable. Athleta has an incredible line of athleisure clothes that are specifically made for travel and even work! I love this button down; it would be such a breeze to throw on and go. The silk shirt that I’m wearing in this post is from Everlane – very comfy and very affordable! They have so many classically tailored options that are designed with real women in real life in mind. You don’t have to look far for comfort from them – take a look here!

Dupe Deals : Top 10 Designer Dupe Headbands

Dupe Deals : Top 10 Designer Dupe Headbands 800 1200 neverwithoutlipstick

If you follow me on Instagram (join the party here), you’re probably familiar with my “Dupe Deals’ feature on my Insta Stories! After this post was such a success, I decided to start sharing more dupes in all kinds of categories. I always love a look for less moment. Let’s kick off Dupe Deals today with my favorite designer dupe headbands!

I don’t know about you, but I just can’t stand how some of the headbands I love the most are $150 or more! I’ve dug around the interwebs to bring you ten amazing dupe headbands as options for all of your headband dreams. From knotted styles to pearl embellishments, I have you covered!

Dallas fashion blogger Never Without Lipstick shares 10 designer dupe headbands options for a look for less! | lele sadoughi headband, jennifer behr headband, headband hairstyles, pearl headband, knotted headband | Top 10 Designer Dupe Headbands featured by top US fashion blog, Never Without Lipstick

Lele Sadoughi Pearl Embellished Headband Dupe

Quite a few of these dupe headbands are inspired by Lele Sadoughi’s designs. I love everything she creates but just can’t justify those hefty price tags!

  • I got this dupe from Etsy and love it! I love the girly texture that the pearls add and the tweed fabric is so Chanel. The Etsy shop is in Korea, so the shipping took about 2 weeks – just FYI. I do think you can get expedited shipping which I’ll definitely do if I order something from her again.
  • This $13 dupe is from H&M and comes in cream and black!
  • If you’re not into the knotted version and looking for something more simple, try this thin velvet and pearl choice!

Lele Sadoughi Satin Knot Headband Dupe

The knotted headband might just be the post popular headband style at the moment. I’m so excited to provide some dupe headbands for this style in particular!

  • This $10 option from Target is so comfortable (important with headbands!) and adds such a sleek touch to a look.
  • Obviously you can’t go wrong with a $14 leopard version!
  • How cute is this ribbed version? That hot pink color is probably going right into my cart – a must-have!

Jennifer Behr Headband Dupes

I have to reiterate my statement from above when it comes to Jennifer Behr as well. Her pieces are truly gorgeous and the prices match that level of quality and detail. But if you’re not looking to splurge, I think that the dupes below make great choices.

  • I think that this dupe more closely resembles this Jennifer Behr braided satin version, but it comes in a little higher at $82. It’s the perfect style for an event or special occasion, so might be worth it – and still less than $295 for the real deal! For a similar dupe for less, try this one for $19.

Hermes Head Scarf Dupe

The Hermes twilly scarves might just be the rare items you can find for under $200 at such a luxury retailer. While a twilly could be a very multi-purpose purchase (headband, hair tie, or addition to your purse or wrist), you can easily achieve the same look for much less with this set of Hermes-inspired scarves. I also love this $10 option!

I hope you loved this first installment of Dupe Deals on the blog all about dupe headbands! There won’t be a Dupe Deals blog post every week, but if you subscribe to my emails, you’ll receive exclusive Dupe Deals emails right to your inbox every week even when there’s not a post up. Subscribe and join the endless look for less fun! Is there a category of dupes you’d like for me to cover? Email me or reach out on Insta, and I’ll get a list going 🙂

Cute Maxi Dresses under $100 for Every Occasion

Cute Maxi Dresses under $100 for Every Occasion 800 1200 neverwithoutlipstick

While I always love to be both chic and stylish, comfort is my main priority 95% of the time. And there really isn’t anything more ideal for both style and comfort than cute maxi dresses. I ordered this leopard print dress at the beginning of the season and have absolutely adored it! After wearing it for the fifth time or so, I got looking at more maxi dress options that could work for this spring and summer for weekends, work, etc. I’ve put together my findings below by category – I hope you find something comfy and cute!

Cute Maxi Dresses

Casual Maxi Dress Options:

  • This striped, puff-sleeve dress is a DREAM for comfort! Make sure you size down one since it runs a bit oversized.
  • I love the added belt with this dress because it gives it a tailored touch for everyday wear!
  • This off-the-shoulder dress reminds me of a Mara Hoffman version! It has been selling out over and over, so get it while it’s back in stock!
  • There’s nothing a pleated maxi dress can’t fix – especially this one in that powder blue “it color”!
  • If you caught my Friday Finds on Insta Stories last week, you’ll know I’ve been eyeing this amazing floral maxi for weeks! It’s at the top of my list for cute maxi dresses this season.

Work Maxi Dress Options:

  • This striped shirtdress style is made for work and could go with loafers, espadrilles, and even sneakers at a more casual office.
  • Here is the same version of my dress in black! I recommend going true to size or sizing down one size.
  • A lightweight linen option like this one would make for a work outfit worth repeating over and over.
  • If you’re into the prairie style of dress, then this one is a must-have and SO perfect for work and weekends!

Vacation/Poolside Maxi Dress Options:

  • There’s nothing I love more than a leopard slip dress moment! Size up one if you’re a bit fuller in the hips as slip dresses tend to run pretty straight up and down. Or try this more A-line style!
  • This blue and white satin kaftan just screams summer to me! I’d wear this to the pool for sure.
  • Loving the tied sleeves on this dress! So perfect for warm days by the beach on vacay. Same goes for this gorgeous classic black option!
  • This floral, button-up maxi just screams vacation to me.
  • This $18 maxi was made to be a pool cover-up. It also comes in tons of colors/patterns!

How to Add Spring Colors to a Neutral Wardrobe

How to Add Spring Colors to a Neutral Wardrobe 800 1200 neverwithoutlipstick

I couldn’t be happier that the sun is shining consistently and the temps have been so lovely in Dallas lately! After the cold, gloomy, rainy winter we had, spring fever was at an all-time high for me. Once the sun was out, I immediately wanted to be in florals and bright colors. But if you’ve been reading my blog for some time, you know that I’m a die-hard neutrals girl. Are you, too? I thought it would be fun to share how I think about adding spring colors to a more neutral wardrobe!

Spring Colors featured by top US fashion blog Never Without Lipstick; Image of a woman wearing a light blue blouse, jeans, gucci soho mini and stuart weitzman nudist heel. Treat pastels like spring neutrals

Pastels are probably the easiest way to add spring colors to your neutral wardrobe. You’re being adventurous by adding in more color, but it’s just not as jarring as bright oranges or reds! The powder blue hue of my shirt in this post is the “it” color of the season; I’m seeing it everywhere! Pastel blues and pinks make gorgeous colorful neutrals for spring, summer, and even cooler seasons, too.

Choose small floral patterns

Generally, I avoid all patterns like the plague *except* for stripes, leopard, and small, dainty florals. Smaller floral patterns create more of a neutral base for an outfit. They’re also not too distracting and transition seamlessly with your other clothes.

Spring Colors featured by top US fashion blog Never Without Lipstick; Image of a woman wearing a light blue blouse, jeans, gucci soho mini and stuart weitzman nudist heel.

Opt for your wardrobe staples in spring colors

If you’re out doing some spring shopping, see if some of your wardrobe go-to’s come in small florals or easy-to-wear light spring colors.

Or select a few statement pieces in springtime hues to dress up or down

I just can’t resist a Victorian neckline, balloon sleeves, or ruffles upon ruffles. So when I found my top in this post, I knew it had to be mine. Before buying it, I thought about how I could wear it with jeans and heels or also with a pair of sneakers. So I recommend shopping for a few statement shirts, skirts, or dresses in spring colors that you know can easily be worn with lots of your spring wardrobe essentials, dressed up or down.

Spring Colors featured by top US fashion blog Never Without Lipstick; Image of a woman wearing a light blue blouse, jeans, gucci soho mini and stuart weitzman nudist heel.

Pair bright spring hues with other neutral pieces

In the same vein as the recommendation above, brighter spring colors can pack more of a punch and be more of a statement. To ease this into a more neutral-based closet, try pairing these brights with your favorite denim or a neutral skirt/base. Bright coral and taupe go together beautifully, for example!

I hope you can take these tips and start adding in sunny and bright spring colors to your wardrobe ASAP! If you’re looking for some more spring outfit inspo, read how to wear my go-to spring work outfit 4 different ways & see what my top 25 spring essentials (under $100!) are here.

Dainty Gold Jewelry under $100 You Can’t Live Without

Dainty Gold Jewelry under $100 You Can’t Live Without 900 1200 neverwithoutlipstick

It always shocks people that I’ve found so much of my everyday dainty gold jewelry on Amazon for under $100 (not sponsored – I wish! Just have to share!). Since I’m not one to withhold my shopping secrets, I wanted to spill all the details on the best dainty gold jewelry pieces I’ve found. These delicate and classic earrings, rings, and necklaces are perfect for wearing nonstop. This is for the glitz and glam lovers who always need solid basics and for those just looking for an everyday touch of sparkle!

How to Find Affordable Dainty Gold Jewelry on Amazon

Before you start, know the difference between gold-plate, gold-filled, and solid gold

For starters, it’s important to be educated about the descriptions of these pieces. You’ll see gold-filled, gold-plated, or solid gold pieces. Each will make a difference in the price and durability of your purchase. Gold-filled and gold-plated are alloys that blend gold with another base metal such as brass or sterling silver. Gold-filled typically lasts longer than gold-plate and doesn’t tarnish as quickly. Brass tends to break out people’s skin, so I always buy gold-filled with/over sterling silver! Real gold is the real deal that definitely won’t tarnish. You’ll see that the price will increase as the quality of gold increases. I purchase 10K and 14K gold pieces for more affordable everyday pieces. 18K and 24K are really nice but involve a much heftier price tag!

Gold Huggie Hoops and Earrings on Amazon

I’d say that one of my most-asked questions is where I got these gold huggie hoops. They’re 14K gold, $33, and I now own three pairs because they’re so good. I’m sharing some more of my favorite small hoop and delicate everyday earrings below…

These $21 teeny tiny gold ball studs are perfect if you have more than one piercing on each lobe. With three piercings per ear, sometimes other earrings can interfere if I want to wear statement earrings up front. I pop these studs into piercing two and three to have something there but to not distract from the earring in piercing one!

I spent well over $50 on a pair of earrings like these before I discovered this $9 pair! These add an edge to your look and something different with the dangling spike!

A lot of the time I like wearing three hoops on each ear. I have been so impressed with the quality of these pave CZ hoops and have worn them for weeks on end. These black pave hoops just came in, and I haven’t taken them out since! A pair of rainbow pave hoops (and these ear threaders!) are on their way to me, so I can’t wait to wear the white, black, and rainbow hoops all together!

Gold Rings on Amazon

SHOP MY LOOK:

Thin Gold Rings | Dress | Bag

My mom will call me “Ringa” (a play on Ringo, ha!) when I’m loading on #alltherings. I don’t know why, but I have been drawn to rings as long as I can remember! I love simple, dainty gold jewelry when it comes to my rings, too. Always go for the classics so that they’re easy to style and go with everything you wear!

Wear this gold wedding band style ring as an everyday, classic statement.

This rope-textured ring is inspired by a David Yurman version and less than half the price. This would be a great stacking ring if you ordered more than one. Or a great texture for mixing and matching!

I also love wearing whisper-thin gold rings all over my fingers like in the photo above. This $18 version from Amazon is to die for. Click on the seller’s name to find the ring in your size! (I bought mine from Etsy.) Buy a few in your ring finger size and then a few bigger to put on your pointer, thumb, or middle finger!

My pinky ring was custom made for me as a gift, but here is a very similar version for under $65!

Gold Layering Necklaces on Amazon

SHOP MY LOOK:

Blazer | Tee | Jeans | Heart Necklace

Who else can’t get enough of the layered coin necklace look?! I think it’s so chic while also being so cool and on trend. To get the layered look, try to space them out by necklace length. I usually go with a 16 inch, 18 inch, and 20 inch when I’m wearing my layered coin necklaces. This way they won’t be laying right on top of each other!

Here is a $23 coin necklace that would be a great way to start or add to your layering! Then consider adding in an oval shaped option in like this.

As I mentioned, I’m not usually one to go for gold-plated brass pieces, but this necklace is said to be made with high-quality brass that does not cause breakouts. This $12 necklace reminds me of the Missoma version and would be a really cool addition to a layered look!

I’m always one to go for a personalized touch. This initial disc necklace is a must-buy for $8 or this one for $15! I’ve found that shopping for children’s gold jewelry can lead to some major price cuts and steals!

This rosary-style necklace is so cool and makes for a simple statement all on its own!

It’s also always a classic and easy move to just wear a simple, elegant gold chain. I love the open link look of this one. Or this ball chain style could add some texture!

You can never go wrong with something simple with just one pendant like this one!

Here is a dupe of the Tiffany’s Elsa Perretti heart necklace for $75! This would make an amazing Mother’s Day gift.

This gold bar necklace would be amazing on its own or a great option for engraving to personalize it!

Last but not least, I have been loving Amy (Fashion Jackson)’s and Ashley (The Teacher Diva)’s delicate ball chain bracelets. I was thrilled when I found this $10 version on Amazon! I ordered two to stack them.

I hope these affordable, dainty gold jewelry finds add a luxe touch to your everyday look. I always link my jewelry and accessories here or on my LIKEtoKNOW.it profile so that y’all can stay updated!

P.S. You may not know that I’m a bit of a junkie when it comes to discovering deals on Amazon! Don’t miss my post on the best designer dupes you can find on Amazon. Think amazing dupes for the Goyard tote, Valentino shoes, and more!

Top 10 Cruelty Free Highlighters for Everyday Wear

Top 10 Cruelty Free Highlighters for Everyday Wear 800 1200 neverwithoutlipstick

With warmer temps and more sunshine, it’s time to work on that dewy springtime glow with some cruelty free highlighters! I’ve rounded up my top 10 that deliver the best results when it comes to glow.

As some of you might know, I made the switch to using cruelty-free everything a little over a year ago. It has been one of the best choices I’ve made and has now led me to so many amazing clean beauty products as well! If you’re interested in making the switch to cruelty-free and clean beauty products, read this post on how to start and which products to switch first. It’s helpful to get educated about the harmful chemicals to look out for on labels. Credo has a complete ‘dirty list’ and very detailed explanations of the side effects etc!

These 10 cruelty free highlighters are the best for everyday glow…

Cruelty Free and Vegan Powder Highlighters

Becca Cosmetics Shimmering Skin Pressed Highlighter (cruelty-free): The Becca highlighter is a cult-favorite for a reason. The pigment is unbeatable, the color range is huge, and it’ll last you forever. I wear this one in either ‘Champagne Pop’ or ‘Rosy Quartz’ on a daily basis! 90% of the time I reach for a powder highlighter; it’s the best for my combination/oily skin. As my skin gets oily throughout the day, sometimes creamier highlighters have transferred down my face a bit. You don’t have to worry about that with powder! These also come in mini size which are perfect for travel.

Pixi by Petra Glow-Y Duo (cruelty-free): Definitely turn to this brand for affordable but high-performing products. This highlighter duo is well formulated to bring a depth of glow to your look. Since there are two colors, you can wear each by itself or together for more depth to your highlight. I love how delicately this one wears!

Urban Decay Backtalk Palette (cruelty-free): I was thrilled when Urban Decay gifted me this gorgeous palette (thank you!). It seriously has everything you need all in one place. You can go from light feminine looks to smokier more romantic vibes. BUT an added bonus of this palette is the light pink shimmery highlighter it includes! The soft pink undertones of the highlighter complement any rosy or pink blush and add dimension to your look. I also think pink highlighter hues are a great place to start just since they tend toward the more natural glow realm!

Hourglass Strobe Lighting Powder (vegan & cruelty-free): Hourglass cosmetics are high-quality all around. Their highlighters are no exception! These highlighter powders are specially formulated to catch the light and give you an easy, effortless glow-from-within look. Since the product is aiming for a more naturally glowing look, these do go on a bit lighter/are a bit more sheer than other powders.

(P.S. I also highly recommend their bronzer for exceptional blendability and natural shades that don’t give harsh contour lines. I also have been using their stick foundation for over a year now and will never ever go back to liquid. If you’re in the market for a new foundation, I highly, highly recommend it!)

Liquid and Cream Highlighters

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Beauty Highlighter Wand (cruelty-free): This highlighter really delivers when it comes to glow. It’s a must-buy when it comes to cruelty free highlighters! It’ll look like you just got your makeup professionally done. Whenever my friend wears this one, she always gets so many compliments! You can just dab this one on your cheekbones, bridge of your nose, cupid’s bow etc. to get the desired glow. I’d start out with a little and then add if you want more shimmer. If I really want to be a dewy goddess, I put this one on and then the Becca powder over it to set it.

rms beauty Luminizer (clean & cruelty-free): This would be your go-to for a very natural glow. Are you the type of girl that just wears a bit of foundation or concealer? Add this into your routine. I have the satin-pearl shade and anytime I wear it I love how it appears like I’m glowing from within. It is coconut oil based, so I would apply it sparingly if you have more oily skin! Because of my oilier skin, I can’t live without powder over my foundation. This one doesn’t layer over powder well so I apply it after my foundation and then take a beautyblender to apply my powder just in my T-zone!

Rituel de Fille Rare Light Luminzer (clean & cruelty-free): This product is so gorgeous on and the packaging/branding is so luxe! I have it in the ‘Anthelion’ shade and it’s like I’m adding 24K gold flakes onto my skin. The pigment is so rich and really delivers. This would be another great addition for any of you makeup minimalists. My same application tips from above apply here too if your skin tends toward the oily combo side!

Hourglass Highlighting Stick (vegan & cruelty-free): If you’re wanting to try out highlighter in your routine, this highlighter stick would be a good place to start. It adds a sheer but natural glow. Once you’re ready to amp it up a bit, layer an Hourglass highlighter powder over it for more of a statement.

Glossier Haloscope (vegan, clean & cruelty-free): Another affordable ($22) option for those new to wearing highlighter or minimal makeup people. I love its size because it’s easy to travel with or throw in your makeup bag to add glow on the go!

Juice Beauty Illuminating Primer (clean & cruelty-free): Now here is a different route to highlight altogether! If you’re looking to get a lit-from-within, more subtle glow, then this would be your product of choice. I recommend starting out by using this product sparingly as a primer or just on the high points of your face under your foundation. I went a little too heavy the first time I used it, and my face ended up looking too shiny all over! You can also easily mix a drop or two of this into your regular primer or liquid foundation for an added glowy touch.

I hope you’re ready to get glowing with these cruelty free highlighters! I’ve loved adding in a bit of shimmer to my everyday makeup routine, and I think you will, too. You can see more of my must-have clean and cruelty-free makeup and skincare products here!

25 Must-Have Spring Essentials for under $100 800 1200 neverwithoutlipstick

Lately, I’ve been online “window shopping” at my favorite stores and getting so excited about curating my spring wardrobe. However, it’s always easy for me to get carried away with all of the gorgeous florals and new trends. I had to make sure that I had all of my spring essentials covered first! Once I wrote it all out (I’m a list-maker!), it really came down to 25 key pieces that I must have in my spring lineup.

Spring Essentials You Need under $100

5 Must-Have Spring Blouses

Short-Sleeved Button Down: As I mentioned in this post, my spring work uniform almost always includes a version of the Madewell Central top or Courier shirt with Madewell jeans, of course (I’m an addict). It’s a foolproof combo! I love it because it’s so versatile while also being so flattering when paired with skinny jeans and skirts. I’ll admit that I have the “Courier” style in two colors and the “Central” style in two colors…just that good!

Eyelet Blouse: A delicate and feminine eyelet blouse is a must for spring! This one is perfect for work and play and comes in three different colors.

Chambray Button-Down: You can easily dress a chambray button-down up or down for wherever you’re headed. That’s why it’s a must-have when it comes to your spring wardrobe. I love to wear mine with a linen blazer, black jeans, and espadrilles for work!

Everyday Cami: This scalloped cami screams spring staple to me! Such a great price and you can wear it as a light layer under blazers/jackets or dress it up for drinks/dinner with pumps. It comes in 4 colors! Also super in-love with this wrap-style version

Ruffle-Hem Blouse: This striped, ruffle-hem top that I featured in this Instagram (it’s a funny story how I ended up buying it – read the caption to find out) has become an instant favorite. It’s really easy to dress up with a trench coat and kitten heels for work. Or it was comfy and breezy just with jeans and my favorite white sneakers! If you have a long torso like me, I recommend buying one size up for length (I went with the medium).

5 Must-Have Shorts & Skirts for Spring

Denim: I don’t consider my spring/summer wardrobe complete without THESE high-rise jean shorts. If you haven’t tried a pair yet, what’re you waiting for?! They’re a crazy flattering fit and not too short. But if you do want to wear them shorter you can just roll them up! This spring season, I’m also going to be going a bit lighter with my denim. I’m loving this pair and this pair of vintage wash jeans!

Paper-Bag Waist Shorts: If you’re wanting to wear shorts but be a bit more formal/chic, a pair of paper-bag waist shorts would be your best bet. I love the flattering A-line waist that this style creates! It’s the fit that makes me reach for these so often as the temperatures are warming up. (P.S. If you’re not feeling shorts, opt for a utility skirt with a similar waist like this one!)

Pleated Midi Skirt: It has taken me forever and a day to find a midi skirt that I like. This pleated one from H&M turned out to be a winner for work and with tees and sneaks on the weekend. It comes in so many colors, but I am really loving this shimmery silver hue!

Denim Mini: Consider a denim mini your go-to skirt of choice when it comes to all of your fun, sunny, and springy activities! This darling striped version definitely caught my eye, too, and made it onto my wishlist!

5 Must-Have Spring Dresses

Floral Sundress: Florals for spring? Groundbreaking. But seriously, I’m always attracted to very simple, delicate pattern details when it comes to florals. Wear a dress like this or this with booties now and espadrilles once it’s consistently warmer!

Smock-Waist Dress: The smock waist is my jam; I’m always here for it. I think the blousy top, cinch at the waist, and A-line drape of the skirt makes for the most flattering fit (especially great for pear-shaped figures!)! This one is right under $100 and in the perfect go-to colors for springtime.

Shirtdress: My favorite style shirt comes in dress form! And I’ve been able to find it available in all sizes here for just under $50.

Midi Dress: Springtime can mean lots of baby showers, wedding showers, Easter events, etc. where you’ll most likely need a classic satin-texture dress in your arsenal.

Maxi Dress: This off-the-shoulder striped maxi dress is so perfect for spring. You can throw a jean jacket over it when it gets a little bit cooler in the evenings!

5 Must-Have Jackets for Spring

Linen Blazer: I just got my hands on this $50 striped linen-looking blazer for spring! I can’t wait to wear it with cream camis or anything eyelet.

Jean Jacket: Can’t go anywhere without my jean jacket. I love mine from Abercrombie so much because it’s really soft and comfy not stiff like some denim jackets can be. I wear it all the time when I travel!

Trench Coat: The trench coat is the perfect middle ground weight for colder mornings/evenings in the spring. I talked all about why it’s one of your winter staples you can repurpose for spring in this post. I’ve been reaching for mine constantly to add into my work outfits!

Utility Jacket: A cargo or utility jacket is what I reach for to add a more tailored touch to an outfit. It’s the perfect everyday jacket that you can throw on with just about anything. I use mine interchangeably with my jean jacket! Utility jackets are great for traveling as well.

Cozy Cardigan: Just because it’s getting warmer doesn’t mean you should put away your most cozy cardi! Keep a cardigan around to throw over dresses, sleeveless tops, etc. for mornings, evenings, or if you work in a really cold office.

5 Spring Shoes under $100

White Leather Sneakers: Springtime is the ideal time to bring out your white leather sneakers. This pair is not only so classic in design but also very durable. It makes their price tag a major steal!

Slip-On Espadrilles: I love that one of my favorite shoe brands makes a slip-on espadrille sneaker. They’re crazy comfortable, go with almost everything, and add that spring-y espadrille texture to your more casual looks.

Platform Wedges: This pair of low, platform espadrilles are so perfect for spring. They’re a super affordable dupe of a much more expensive pair with the same scalloped detailing! These also come in five different color options.

Flat Sandal Slides: These Hermes “H” flat dupes have been a major hit from this post I did on Amazon designer dupes. I’m waiting for them to come back in stock in my size in white! (In the meantime, my eyes are on this pair, too.) I have a similar pair in tan that I throw on all the time in the spring. They’re a definite must-have spring shoe!

Block Heeled Sandals: I shared this ~$30 pair of nude block heels on my Insta Stories last week! They’re such an amazing staple spring shoe for work, and I love the double band over the toes. I recommend getting these before they’re gone…

Extra, extra!…

Essential Spring Accessories

When I was in Arizona, I picked up this heart chain necklace and haven’t taken it off since. Madewell makes incredible jewelry that really holds up if you want to wear it all the time or rarely take it off. I also grabbed this pair of hoops and have worn them at least 5 days in a row now. I love their texture and how chunky they are but still lightweight!

If you read this post, you’ll know all about the hair accessories trend happening right now. I think this $12 scarf ponytail holder is the perfect spring accessory addition. The bow is already tied, so all you have to do is put it in your hair!

Everybody knows that your spring essentials have to include a new spring lipstick! I just added this one in ‘Coachella Coral’ to the collection, and it has been love at first sight. It’s a very versatile spring color that looks amazing matte or with a shimmery gloss over it.

Do these spring essentials have you dreaming in pastels and florals or what?!

Spring Button Downs

What I love about button downs is that they’re a classic for work but also for every other situation during the spring. (I’ll throw mine on over a swimsuit as a coverup or with jean shorts on warmer days!)

Long-Sleeve Spring Blouses

Short-Sleeve Spring Blouses

My spring work uniform consists of some version of this top, Madewell jeans, and then espadrilles or sandals. Short-sleeve blouses are one of the best routes to take when it comes to spring blouses for work! So easy, you can outfit repeat with them, too by just changing up your jewelry and shoes.

Sleeveless Spring Blouses

While in some offices it might not be allowed to show some shoulder, sleeveless blouses are a good layer to have on as the temps heat up. You can keep cool if you don’t have to cover up and stay cooler with a sleeveless blouse under a blazer or jacket in a more formal office setting. I’m linking some classic, sleeveless options below!

Spring Wrap Tops

A classically elegant option that you could easily take to dinner or drinks after work!

Spring Camisoles

Camis are a great layering piece when it comes to spring blouses for work. Wear one under a blazer, jean jacket, or trench coat. You can get creative with a scalloped detail or polka dot print!

Loving these spring blouses for work? I’ve been linking everything I’ve been loving for spring here – take a look and you’ll be able to put together your spring wardrobe shopping list! You can see more of my workwear outfit inspo here, too!

5 Winter Essentials You Can Repurpose for Spring

5 Winter Essentials You Can Repurpose for Spring 800 1200 neverwithoutlipstick

The fact that it’s March has me thinking that it’s technically spring already. And that we should all technically be wearing spring clothes. I gotta keep dreamin’! With recent bitterly cold temps, I’ve been thinking about the winter essentials that I’ve kept around while I’m transitioning my wardrobe. There are five that I’ve thought of that you shouldn’t stow away just quite yet. You’re probably thinking, “Um, duh, it’s freezing.” I mean don’t stow these 5 winter essentials away once the temps are consistently 50 and above 🙂

Top 5 Winter Essentials to Wear in Spring:

Transitioning your wardrobe from winter to spring is all about the art of layering. A layer to keep you warm in the mornings and evenings. Then a layer to keep you cool when the sun is shining its brightest!

1) Loose, Cozy Knits

If you have any looser, more open-knit sweaters, get ready to bring them out for spring transitional! These cozy knits are the best layering pieces over tees, camis, tanks, etc. I’m linking to some of my favorites under $50 below!

2) Suede or Leather Moto Jackets

Moto jackets are not only on my winter essentials list but also my wardrobe essentials list. That’s because you can wear them in almost any season! Both my suede and my leather moto jackets are key pieces in my transitional wardrobe.

3) Ankle Booties

The underlying concept behind layering still kind of applies here with shoes. Strategically wear ankle booties with lighter weight pieces like dresses and skirts. This pair of booties are my favorite when it comes to ankle booties. They have been a hit from my Amazon designer dupes post!

4) Trench Coat

Eventually, when the temps stabilize, it will be time to put away wool coats and parkas. But for those days when it feels cold enough out for a coat, that’s where a trench coat comes in. I love wearing mine to work for that extra professional touch to an outfit. A trench also dresses up a casual outfit with jeans. I got mine from Club Monaco, and I feel like they have some of the best designs and styles on the market for trench coats.

5) Faux Leather Leggings

Did you catch my blog post all about the Spanx faux leather leggings? Read it here! I’m excited to say that these leggings can be winter essentials AND a go-to in the spring as well. Wear them with a tee, jean jacket, and sneakers for the perfect, layered spring look!
