Can you believe that we’re almost to Thanksgiving? I seriously can’t believe where the time has gone so quickly, but I’m so excited to officially be entering into the time of the year that we can call winter. With the colder temps comes some shifts to your wardrobe, so why not give your winter staples a style refresh with one (or more) of these five winter style trends!
5 WINTER STYLE TRENDS TO ADD TO YOUR CLOSET
Metallic Puffer Jackets:
Puffer jackets are always going to be a winter winner; they’re easy to throw on with anything and you can pack them up for travel easily. This winter style trend is an easy way to give your winter staples an update; it’ll add a little something to any outfit you wear with your puffer. If you’re not wearing one over workout clothes, consider a puffer with light wash denim and some white booties for a super mod look. I want to get my hands on this one on sale for $35, plus, Target has such fast shipping!
Eyelet in winter? Trust me, I’m not going crazy. When I saw this high neck blouse styled with skinny jeans and booties at Madewell I immediately wanted to be adding black eyelet to my winter wardrobe. Let’s consider it winter’s version of lace. (This top also has such a great Victorian collar which is also a huge trend for the 2017 fall/winter season.) Dress it up or down for work or for dinner/drinks – just pop a thin black cami (I wear these $9 ones from Amazon under stuff all the time) underneath for extra coverage. You can easily layer your coats, leather jackets, or sweaters over this, too!
Balloon sleeve sweaters:
It seems that with each season we’re always seeing new, intricate sleeve styles to spice up our closets. And this winter season is no exception. For 2017 winter style trends, it’s all about the balloon sleeve. It gives your arms more room for cozying up in your sweaters and since the sleeves are making the statement, you can easily pair your sweater with your fall/winter basics (denim, leggings, booties, etc.) for a quick yet stylish look.
If you’ve read my Instagram bio, you know I’m a neutrals girl which means patterns or bright colors rarely make their way into my closet. But when it comes to leopard print I think I can make an exception. You can definitely treat this playful print as a new neutral for your wardrobe (consider this sweater or these booties). Or if you’d like to add it in a more subtle way, opt for this beanie or this scarf!
I never got on the baker boy cap train, and I’m glad I waited for the next hat trend because the beret is way more my style. Take a tip from the Parisian ladies and style this sweet, chic, and warm hat into your winter wardrobe! Throw it on with a plaid blazer outfit or with a car coat and tailored dress combo.
